We support culture to achieve its most sustainable version. Concerts, filming, award ceremonies, events... With Aquaservice, culture goes on stage to take care of the planet.
Solidarity and the fight for cancer research are the maxim of 'Valencia contra el Cáncer' but, every year, both organization and collaborators work even harder to achieve the goal of holding an event 100% sustainable and free of single-use plastics. It is a clear objective that is gradually being achieved thanks to the actions of many of the sponsors who are joining RunCancer.
Specifically, in this 9th edition Aquaservice, the leading company in the distribution of bottled water with dispenser in Spain, as it did in the last edition, has been responsible for hydrating all participants during the competition by donating more than 7,000 liters of water and delivering them in its 100% electric delivery vehicles. As in previous years, the company installed hydration points where, thanks to its circular system of bottled water with dispenser, the use of more than 14,000 single-use plastic bottles was avoided.
Thus, the thousands of participants who have run the circuit have received their water, both in the race refreshment and in the post finish area, in biodegradable cups, which has led to the saving of 224 kg of single-use plastic.
In addition, Aquaservice has also been personally involved in the cause with more than 900 people who are part of the company, as well as their families and friends have participated in the event in one way or another, running, walking or skating.
More than 100 volunteers from Aquaservice con Alma, the company's CSR strategy, have also been involved and have also supported the organization at the refreshment points and along the route. A total of 1,000 people were involved, breaking Aquaservice's record of participation in this year's edition.
These initiatives, together with other sustainable actions that have been carried out for years such as the use of recycled paper bags for the delivery of race numbers, the 100% electric race car of Mercedes-Benz Valdisa or the official T-shirts made with 100% recycled fabric of 42K Running, make 'Valencia contra el Cancer' a pioneering event in sustainability.
The 2024 edition of this 100% solidarity event 'Valencia contra el Cancer' held last Sunday was the largest so far.
The day brought together a total of 18,107 participants in a very festive, emotional and family atmosphere, achieving a total of 90,535 euros thanks to the sale of 100% solidarity bibs, which go entirely to fund cancer research projects. A figure of success thanks to the solidarity of all the people who moved against the disease, whether running, walking or skating.
In addition, this great event is also possible thanks to the 250 volunteers, who have dedicated themselves body and soul for three full days to the cause. From handing out the bib or the T-shirt, to answering all the questions and helping all the participants at all times and in any way they could.
From the Association Against Cancer in Valencia, its president Tomás Trénor, said that “we are very grateful for the selfless work of all of them. Without their commitment and dedication this event would not be possible. They are also life”.
Valencia contra el Cancer' is the great annual event of the RunCáncer Valencia circuit, organized by the Association Against Cancer in Valencia and with the main support of the Diputació de València, CaixaBank and 'la Caixa' Foundation, will reach this 2024, when it celebrates its 10th edition, to about 120 Valencian towns with its 100% solidarity walks and races.
In fact, there are still 24 marches to celebrate until December 29, when the circuit will say goodbye to this special edition with two marches in Faura and Anna. In addition, two of the next 24 races will also host a race: Alcàsser (November 17) and Picassent (December 15). Registrations at 5 euros 100% solidarity are still available on the official website of the circuit (www.runcancer.com).
After the 89 races held so far since this edition began in March, the total amount collected from the sale of race bibs has already reached 419,516 euros. As in each edition, every euro will go entirely to cancer research projects through the funding of pre-doctoral grants, which each year promotes the Association Against Cancer in Valencia.
The Valencia against Cancer event, of the RunCancer circuit organized by the Association Against Cancer in Valencia, has the main support of the Provincial Council of Valencia, CaixaBank and 'la Caixa' Foundation, and with the collaboration and sponsorship of major companies such as Germaine de Capuccini, Sklum, El Corte Inglés, Mercedes Benz-Valdisa, Aquaservice, Grupo Bertolín, Arroz Dacsa, Hofmann, Cecotec, Fermax, Sociedad Agricultores de la Vega de Valencia (SAV), Gabol, Fundación Vicky Foods, 42KRunning, IGP Cítricos Valencianos, Cementos la Unión, Verdejo Segura, Geiser Events, Bonsa Bondia Salvo, Solán de Cabras, Café con Causa, Levantina de Seguridad, Umivale Activa, Grupo Rex, Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir, Femeval, Grupo Sopena, Tech Teamz, Aspresso Valencia, Algitama and Chovi.
The Provincial Associate Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer of Valencia has been a reference entity in Valencia for more than 60 years in the fight against cancer: from the support to patients and families, prevention and promotion of healthy habits and support to research to advance against the disease. The Association is made up of more than 300 people, including workers and volunteers, who are joined by more than 7,000 collaborators throughout the province and more than 32,000 members.
Solidarity and the fight for cancer research are the maxim of the ‘Valencia against Cancer’ event, but every year, both the organisation and its collaborators work even harder to achieve the goal of holding an event that is 100% sustainable and free of single-use plastics. It is a clear objective that, little by little, is being achieved thanks to the actions of many of the sponsors who are joining RunCáncer.
Once again, Aquaservice, the leading company in the distribution of bottled water with dispenser in Spain and Portugal, will once again be in charge of hydrating all the participants during the event with more than 5,000 litres of water. As in the previous edition, the company will install hydration points with which, thanks to its circular system of bottled water with dispenser, it will transform the event into a more sustainable version by eliminating the use of single-use plastic for water consumption. Specifically, in 2023, more than 10,000 single-use plastic bottles will no longer be used, the equivalent of 160 kg of this material.
In this way, runners, skaters and walkers will receive their water, both at the refreshment point halfway along the route (at the Torres de Quart towers) and at the post-finish area, in biodegradable cups. Organisation and participants will also be provided with reusable bottles that will be refilled to keep them hydrated throughout the day.
In fact, during the registration process, there is also the option of purchasing a watertight water bottle from Contra el Cáncer en Valencia, which participants can collect along with their race bib and take with them on the day of the event.
A gesture that will help to avoid single-use plastics and that, together with other sustainable actions that have been carried out for years, such as the use of recycled paper bags for the race bibs, the 100% electric race car from Mercedes-Benz Valdisa or the official 42K Running T-shirts made of 100% recycled fabric, make ‘Valencia against Cancer’ a pioneering event in terms of sustainability.
Registrations for all the modalities of this sporting and 100% solidarity event, which will be held in the city of running on 20 October, are still available at www.runcancer.com at a price of 5 euros per bib. Participants in the walk and Nordic walking can also purchase their bib numbers in person at the headquarters of Contra el Cáncer in Valencia (Avda. del Puerto, 13) as well as at the sports floors of the El Corte Inglés stores (Nuevo Centro, Pintor Sorolla, Hipercor Ademuz and Avenida de Francia).
As in every edition, all the proceeds from the sale of the race bibs will go entirely to fund cancer research projects from Contra el Cáncer in Valencia.
Valencia will join forces against cancer in this event, which will be held on Sunday 20 October from 8.30 a.m. on the Paseo de la Alameda, and which will include various sporting activities so that everyone can take part without any excuse.
Likewise, and as has been usual in recent editions, the organisation has activated a Dorsal 0 so that anyone who wants to help and participate, but cannot be at the event on 20 October in person, can still do so by acquiring this Dorsal, with a contribution of 5, 10, 20 or 30 euros 100% in solidarity.

Leading company in the distribution of bottled water with dispenser in Spain and Portugal. Founded in 1997, the company has more than 3,600 people in the team, spread over 70 branches in the main provinces of Spain and Portugal. Currently, it already has more than 750,000 customers in both countries, both in the home and business markets. It is the only brand that offers a 100% native circular solution on a large scale for bottled water in the Iberian Peninsula. The company also has 7 production centres located in natural mineral water springs on the Iberian Peninsula.
Aquaservice seeks to inspire a more sustainable future for the industry, working on the basis of a model that generates value for people and the planet, innovating so that more and more people can drink water in a sustainable way. In this way, the company has recently achieved its goal of being the first company in the sector to achieve the AENOR Circular Economy Strategy certificate, as well as being 100% carbon neutral in all its operations - from the source to the consumer. Aquaservice is also a Zero Waste company, making efficient and sustainable use of raw materials and natural resources. The company is also committed to energy efficiency, using clean energy from sustainable sources in all its centres; to electric mobility, being the first company in our country to incorporate a 100% electric truck for urban delivery; and to sustainable logistics, through its capillary network of geographically distributed springs and the use of Big Data to trace sustainable delivery routes.
Calculate. Reduce. Compensate.
To achieve our certification, at Aquaservice we work very focused on the three actions. To this end, AENOR verifies both the calculation and the compensation of 100% of CO2 emissions in all the operations we carry out during a year.
Once the scope of the carbon footprint has been calculated, we not only work on reducing emissions with a business model that is increasingly responsible with the environment, but we also activate our compensation plan, reforesting and participating in projects that conserve and protect biodiversity.
Events wishing to consolidate a more sustainable version of their activities, whether sporting or cultural, ask us to drastically reduce the consumption of single-use plastic.
If, like the Vuelta Ciclista, the Real Federación de Balonmano, the Porcinos, the Goya or the Feroz, you want to offer your participants and guests a sustainable version of your event, you can call us at our specialized events team: 960 011 895. You will see how we can help you achieve it.
Thanks to our native circular system, by drinking with Aquaservice dispensers and using our reusable bottles, you are betting on the famous three R’s of sustainability: reduce, reuse and recycle.
Reduce because a single bottle, throughout its useful life (50 cycles) is capable of storing 1,000 liters. If you do the calculation, imagine how many single-use plastic bottles you are not using. This way you take advantage of reuse and, finally, as the containers are recyclable, you do not generate waste. Zero waste.
Therefore, if you drink Aquaservice, you contribute to taking care of the planet with a sustainable way of drinking.
